Jelena Stojkovic
Serbian pianist Jelena Stojković brings together the musical traditions of Southeast Europe and the rich heritage of the European piano repertoire in her artistic work.
After studying in Belgrade and Munich, she developed a particular interest in creating programmes that build cultural bridges, combining classical masterpieces with contemporary music.
Alongside her career as a soloist, she regularly performs as a chamber musician and is dedicated to promoting new music, having premiered several works written especially for her.
Her debut album Roses of East (Spektral Records), from which the programme “Inspiration: Folk Music” partly emerged, attracted international attention. The recording received three nominations for the Opus Klassik Award, was selected by PIANO NEWS as CD of the Bimonth (March/April 2022), and was awarded the highest rating of 6 out of 6 stars for both performance and sound quality.

„Inspiration: Folk Music“ invites the audience on an extraordinary musical journey where tradition meets contemporary classical art.
In this recital, Jelena Stojković explores how traditional musical heritage can be transformed into a modern classical language, revealing how folk traditions continue to inspire and shape contemporary composition.
The programme features works by leading Serbian composers alongside music from Germany, Hungary, Russia and Turkey, each offering a distinctive perspective on the relationship between folklore and classical music.

Dorotea Hofmann - Two Serbian Songs: Two contemporary works inspired by Serbian folk songs and composed especially for Jelena Stojković.
