Maria Lettberg
Swedish pianist Maria Lettberg is one of the most distinguished piano personalities of her generation.
Born in Riga, raised in Sweden, and now living in Berlin, she began her piano training at the age of seven and made her debut as a soloist with an orchestra at the age of nine.
After studying in St. Petersburg, Stockholm,

Bloomington, and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she earned her doctorate, she developed an international concert career with a wide stylistic range.
Maria Lettberg gained international renown in particular through her intensive study of the work of Alexander Scriabin: she is one of the few pianists to have recorded his entire piano oeuvre on CD – a project that attracted worldwide attention.
Her recording of Zara Levina's piano concertos was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2018 in the category “Best Classical Instrumental Solo.”
She regularly performs in concerts throughout Europe, Asia, and North America; her repertoire combines the classical-romantic tradition with an interest in rarely performed and contemporary works.

"EUROPOLIS"
Appropriately on Europe Day (founding of the Council of Europe on May 5, 1949), Maria Lettberg embarks on a musical journey through the countries of the European Union.
She presents a selected work for piano from each country, regardless of the era or style.
This collection represents all the major styles of classical music: from the Renaissance to Baroque and Viennese Classical music to Romanticism, Late Romanticism, Impressionism, 20th-century music, Minimalism, and Neoclassicism.
Each piece from the 27 countries has its own fascinating characteristics, and together they paint a multi-layered picture of the European Union.
