As part of the Open Day, the Nicolaihaus invites you to a festive concert with the internationally acclaimed flautist Rita D'Arcangelo and the versatile Japanese pianist Maaya Akutsu - a foretaste of the new concert season.

Rita D'Arcangelo performs regularly on renowned stages in Europe, Asia and America and combines technical brilliance with great sound culture. Maaya Akutsu is equally in demand as a chamber musician and song accompanist with stylistic diversity and teaches at the HMT Leipzig.

Together they present a colorful program with works from the classical, romantic and Belle Époque periods - including lyrical miniatures, elegant salon pieces and imaginative variations on operatic themes by composers such as Mozart, Fauré, Verdi and Elgar.
