Two grandmasters of the young generation

Ivo Ruf (*1999) studied in Lübeck with Sabine Meyer and in Freiburg with Kilian Herold. He is now principal clarinettist with the SWR Symphony Orchestra in Stuttgart. He has won numerous prizes at competitions both as a soloist and with ensembles and has received scholarships from the German Foundation for Musical Life, Live Music Now and the Yamaha Woodwind Scholarship 2022.
Robert Neumann (*2001) has won and been awarded prizes at numerous national and international youth competitions. At the age of 16, he was already described as “an exceptional talent” and “one of the most promising pianistic talents”. Further awards were not long in coming.
For his debut CD with SWRmusic, Robert was named OPUS KLASSIK Young Artist of the Year 2021. In 2023/24, his second album was released by SWRmusic/Naxos and a portrait and studio concert video was released by Deutsche Grammophon in the “Rising Stars” series on Stage+. In 2023 he won 1st prize at the NYCA (New York Concert Artists) Worldwide Debut Concert.
