Wataru Hisasue
Piano Solo Recital

WATARU HISASUE

Born in Kyoto (Japan) in 1994, Wataru Hisasue came to Europe in 2013 and studied in Freiburg, Paris and Berlin. During his studies, he already won prestigious competitions in Germany and Japan, such as the “German Pianist Prize” at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition 2016.
He has now released 5 CDs and can be heard as a soloist with famous orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Metroplitan Symphony Orchestra.

Concert reviews praise his tremendous technique with supple ease, but also his richly varied playing with tone colors and dynamics.

And time and again we read: “The audience responded with exuberant applause and standing ovations.”

program:

L.v.Beethoven: Piano sonata 27-1
Beethoven's Piano Sonata, op. 27-1, is the lesser-known counterpart to his Moonlight Sonata. For both sonatas, which he completed in 1801, he chose the title Sonata quasi una fantasia, alluding to the free fantasies that pianists at the time (like jazz musicians today) liked to improvise in concert.

P.Dusapin: Etude 3 & 4

F.Liszt: Années de pélerinage - Première Année (Suisse)

The Années de pèlerinage (translated as Pilgrim Years) are a collection of character pieces by Franz Liszt for solo piano. This thoroughly revised masterpiece probably contains his most provocative and stirring pieces.
